Is it really that hard to serve customers?

I mean really…is it that hard?

Muffin shop yesterday…girl behind the service counter walk past us 3 times before deciding to acknowledge us and say hello.

Young boy working in a local bread shop greeting customers with “yes…?” and when they finish ordering simply said “and..?” which was followed up with a long sigh, the price and bouncing to the next customer.

McDonalds or KFC employees…don’t get me started.

What is it with the attitude of people working in a service industry these days? Do they not get it? Do they not understand that a good, pleasant experience will keep people coming back? And the bad experience sends people elsewhere?

Even the simple things are well above par these days. Like my local Indian takeaway that says “yes please very thank you so much” when handing every single customer their order. Sure…it’s backwards Engrish, but it’s a whole lot better than 99% of the crowd.

Maybe I should just start a business called the manners shop. Where customers can come and pay for a pleasant customer experience. Wouldn’t actually sell products…just the experience of being a valued customer.

Should be a hit!
